Create a one-time reminder that is hard to misread

Relative times such as “tomorrow morning” can be ambiguous when your device, account, and travel time zones differ. Use an exact date, time, and zone for important reminders:

On August 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Asia/Karachi time, remind me to send the revised campaign brief to the client.

After creation, verify the date and zone in the task details. If a deadline has legal, medical, financial, or safety consequences, keep a second reminder in a dedicated calendar or task system.

Set up recurring ChatGPT notifications

1. State the recurrence, such as every weekday, every Monday, or the first day of each month.
2. Add an exact local time and time zone.
3. Define the source material ChatGPT should use.
4. Specify the output format and length.
5. Create the task and verify it in ChatGPT’s task manager.
6. Run the first occurrence manually if you need to test the prompt before the schedule begins.

A recurring task works best when the instruction remains useful without extra context. If the task depends on files, services, or fresh information that ChatGPT cannot access, say what to do when the source is unavailable instead of assuming the run will succeed.

Where ChatGPT notifications appear

OpenAI’s current notification documentation describes desktop and web notification settings plus an Activity view.
