Press Outreach is BrandJet specialised module for getting press coverage. It combines a journalist database, pitch templates, and a one-click sending flow tuned for the conventions journalists actually respond to.
What it includes
A searchable database of journalists, writers, and podcasters by beat, publication, and region.
Pitch templates that follow the format most journalists prefer (short, value-led, with the actual story line in the subject).
Send tracking and automatic follow-ups capped at sane volumes.
A pitch queue with reminders.
Run a press campaign
Open Press Outreach.
Click + New pitch.
Define the story angle, target publications, and timing. Press pitches usually go out 3 to 5 days before launch.
Search the journalist database by beat (for example: B2B SaaS, climate tech, fintech) and region.
Pick 10 to 30 journalists. More than 50 starts to feel like cold spam to the inbox.
Review the pitch template and customise per journalist. The system fills in name and outlet automatically.
Send. Tracking opens and replies in the activity log.
Best practices
Subject line is the story angle, not your product.
Keep the pitch under 150 words.
Include an embargo if you have one — most journalists respect them.
Send Tuesday to Thursday, 7 to 9am in the journalist timezone.
Follow up once after 3 days. Never more than twice.
What about HARO or Connectively?
Press Outreach is a proactive flow (you pitch journalists). HARO-style platforms are reactive (journalists post requests). They are complementary; many teams run both. See the Pitch Requests article for the reactive side.
How is this different from regular campaigns?
Press journalists get hundreds of pitches a week. The sending volume per inbox is much lower, and the templates skip standard sales conventions.
We log press coverage links automatically when a journalist replies confirming publication, so you build a coverage timeline without manual tracking.
